ECONOMY

As a business owner, I understand the economy comes first. We are facing a time of rising prices and economic uncertainty. We need a government that will look out for small businesses and working class families. Motivated young people will move to where good-paying jobs are and we need to make sure those jobs are here. That starts with fully funding education, because companies look at the quality of local workers first, second, and third when deciding where to open up shop. The next Amazon or Google can grow in Arizona, but we need to sow the seeds for that to happen.

REFORM

Nobody is happy with the current political climate. We are sick of being told to hate our neighbors or those we’ve never met because of a letter next to their name. I plan to look at reforms to bring down the temperature. I believe extremism on either side of the aisle is destructive and we must look at reforms that will bring more serious and qualified candidates into office. Our democracy was established so those in office are beholden to the people. For far too long, those interests have been set aside for those of special interests and partisan politics. Structural reform is necessary in order to get our government back on track.

EDUCATION

We are 48th in the nation in education spending. We need to empower all our young people by fully funding public education. Our long term prosperity depends on these students graduating with all the tools they need to take on the world’s challenges. Being bottom five in anything is embarrassing let alone how much we are choosing to invest in our children’s future. And that is what spending on education is, an investment, not an expense. It is an economic imperative we do better.

ABORTION

Nearly all abortions are now illegal in the state of Arizona. These antiquated ideas about reproductive rights and reproductive freedom are a direct divergence from the will of the people, as a majority of Americans support abortion rights. Abortion should remain safe and legal, and it is imperative that policy makers understand that government should not be involving itself in the personal medical decision of a patient and their doctor.
